John Holland Cazale is an American actor. Cazale quickly became one of Hollywood's main actors, starting with the role of weak and doomed Fredo Corleone opposite longtime friend Al Pacino in Francis Ford Coppola's The Godfather, sequel according to 1974 and Afternoon Dog Day. Cazale chose to continue to act despite his diagnosis of lung cancer. He died in New York City on March 13, 1978, shortly after completing his role in The Deer Hunter.
